Leeds United 'hijack' Man Utd and Liverpool transfer as club record fee is set
Leeds United have sealed their second summer signing on Monday, snapping up defender Jaka Bijol from Udinese for a cool £15million.
Even though the initial asking price was £17m for the Slovenian, Leeds managed to close the deal this week, adding to Lukas Nmecha who's set to join on 1 July.
According to LeedsLive, the Whites aren't near to securing a third addition with fresh faces expected from July onwards.
However, there's plenty of activity around United's transfer dealings with numerous players being linked to a move to Elland Road.
And Daily Star Sport delves into the latest Leeds-related headlines.
Leeds hijack Man Utd and Liverpool transfer
Manchester United and Liverpool target Oscar Gloukh is reportedly on Daniel Farke's radar.
As per Le Nouvel Echo, Leeds have 'expressed interest' in the 21 year old after clocking his performances at RB Salzburg, reports Leeds Live.
Valued at £21m, Leeds' connection with Red Bull could give them an edge to outdo their Premier League rivals for his signature. Adept as a No.10 and left winger, Gloukh netted 10 goals and provided five assists in the Austrian Bundesliga last season.
Beefing up the backline
Leeds United are reportedly beefing up their backline despite already signing Bijol and boasting some top-notch defenders.
The Whites have set their sights on Real Betis' Natan de Souza, who turned heads with his stellar performances last season.
Betis snapped up the 24-year-old after a successful loan spell, shelling out €9m (£7.7m) to make the move permanent. But reports from Estadio Deportivo hint that the Europa Conference League finalists might cash in on him for the right price.
Lazio and Leeds have been on the phone about the defender, with a hefty €27m (£23.1m) offer getting knocked back. Reports suggest they're holding out for €45m (£38.5m), a sum that would obliterate Leeds' transfer record.
