BBC Strictly interrupted as tearful Alex Kingston opens up on hidden condition

Claudia Winkleman was forced to intervene and console Alex Kingston on Saturday evening after she became overwhelmed on Strictly Come Dancing.

The actress not only broke down in tears during the pre-performance VT, but also became emotional whilst awaiting her scores from the judging panel.

The celebrity, who is paired with Johannes Radebe, confessed to experiencing a "tough" week and expressed her fear of disappointing others.

Following the judges' mixed critiques, Alex was surrounded by Claudia and her fellow contestants as she became tearful once more.

Claudia started by saying, "Alex, you know we love you and since this has begun, what my favourite thing is, I see you on a Friday and I go, 'How is it and do you love it?' and yesterday you went, 'No, not very much'," reports Wales Online.

Alex responded, "Yes. I know. The thing is, I'm numerically dyslexic, so I can't count."

"Yes," Claudia acknowledged as Alex began to fight back tears. She went on, "And that's quite difficult."

The presenter interjected, "I know, and I don't want you to be sad because you were excellent and...."

Noticing Alex's distress, Claudia urged everyone to rally around her. She declared, "No, everyone get in.

"You know what? The other thing is, you're not supposed to love every dance."

Alex explained, "No, but I should love this dance because it's, you know, it's drama, but it's just that I'm used to dancing to lyrics."

Through her tears, Alex insisted, "It's fine, it's fine."
