Lionel Messi Makes History in Inter Miami's Conference Semifinal

 Inter Miami CF visited FC Cincinnati this Sunday, Nov. 23, for the MLS Eastern Conference semifinal. Lionel Messi appeared and made history.

Messi, 38, scored in the 19th minute of the match. The Argentine silenced TQL Stadium after Jordi Alba shook off opponents in midfield and found Messi in the process.

The Herons' No. 10 gave the ball to Silvetti, who returned it almost immediately for the Argentine to put it in the back of the net and give Miami the lead.

The home side came from knocking out Columbus during the best-of-three round. Cincinnati won the first match 1-0, but then fell 4-0 in the second game. They ended up advancing after winning 2-1 on Nov. 8.

Meanwhile, Messi and Suarez’s team advanced to the Conference semifinals after eliminating Nashville in the best-of-three round. The Herons won the first game 3-1, but lost the second 2-1. They won the last game decisively, 4-0, on Nov. 8.

Messi was one of the key men to advance. In the first game against Nashville, he scored a brace. In the second, he was the author of his team’s only goal, and in the third, he scored another brace.

On Cincinnati’s side, the key man was Evander. The Brazilian had 18 goals and 14 assists this season, which was 32 goal contributions.
