Ukrainian missiles prove effective in new deep strikes on Russia, Zelenskyy says
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Ukrainian missiles performed well during strikes on targets in Russia and thanked weapons manufacturers.
Zelenskyy thanked the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Security Service (SBU), and intelligence officers for "long-range sanctions" against the Russian regime, noting that the geography of the strikes is expanding daily.
"The geography of sanctions is growing, and losses of the Russian war machine are increasing. We are using not only Ukrainian drones more often, but also our missiles — they are performing well. I thank our manufacturers," the president said.
On October 31, Zelenskyy reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine are preparing new long-range strikes on priority targets in Russia.
He added that Ukraine has already used the Flamingo missile nine times in strikes, calling it the country's most advanced cruise missile. There were production challenges, but the state order will be fulfilled. Zelenskyy assured that Ukraine found domestic resources to pay for the Flamingo batch. The country will have a certain number of missiles, which remains undisclosed.
Meanwhile, on the night of October 31, the Ukrainian Naval Forces struck Russia with upgraded Neptune missiles, hitting the Oryol and Bryansk regions. In Oryol, the Oryol thermal power plant was hit, while in Bryansk, the Novobryansk substation, critical for electricity supply near the Russian border, was destroyed.
