Karoline Leavitt shares cryptic post about 'truth' after leaving Donald Trump

Karoline Leavitt seems to be embracing her faith following the surprising announcement of her exit from the White House.

In a social media post, the 28-year-old spokeswoman shared an enigmatic message about discovering the "truth" soon after stepping down from her long-term boss, Donald Trump, and the administration.

The message that was posted to her Instagram Story featured a passage from the Bible that stated, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6." This passage from the Bible contains the words Jesus spoke to his distressed disciples immediately before his crucifixion. This passage also affirms that anyone who follows Jesus will ultimately be brought into the presence of God. It comes after Leavitt accidentally humiliated Trump as critics asked about his 'diaper.'

Leavitt has publicly discussed her religion and faith as a committed Roman Catholic. She was raised in a conventional Catholic household in Atkinson, New Hampshire, and attended both a Catholic high school and college.

Leavitt went on to share that her departure stems from a desire to dedicate more time to her expanding family. Leavitt and her husband, Nicholas Riccio, welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Viviana, on May 1.

This marks their second child together, in addition to their two-year-old son Nicholas, whom they welcomed on July 10, 2024. In the post, she explained in part, "The truth is since returning to the White House after the birth of my daughter, I have felt in my heart that I cannot be the best mom my two young children deserve.

"While devoting the constant time, energy, and attention required of the White House Press Secretary - and that is why I have ultimately made the bittersweet decision to depart the White House and embark on a new chapter in my life."

The president also responded to the announcement, expressing his backing for Karoline's choice. In a Truth Social post, President Trump described Leavitt as one of his "most trusted aides" and stated that he "totally understands" and honors her decision to step away from the role to focus on her young children.

The 80-year-old politician went on to add, "Karoline will now be one of my top outside advisors, and an influential voice within the Republican Party."
